General Responsibilities

  • Assist in the organization and execution of events, media drops etc
  • Liaise with and help to draft responses for enquiries from media
  • Researching, draft and disseminate content such as press releases, media alerts, media pitches, event invites, presentation decks, etc
  • Track, consolidate and analyse media coverage from communication pushes;
  • Maintain and build relations with key media/journalists
  • Be creative and work with team to brainstorm, develop, and execute campaign-level activities such as media drop, events etc;
  • Work closely with Manager to identify new PR opportunities and strategies;
  • Stay abreast of the ever-evolving media industry (media movements) and be kept up-to-date with news cycle/trends to identify newsjacking opportunities

Shopee-specific Responsibilities

  • Manage media buying;

  • Manage and keep up-to-date PR calendar and Master Media List;

  • Undertake general administrative and clerical duties such as weekly PR reporting, monthly media newsletter and weekly media pitching.

 

Requirements

  • Understand Shopee’s core values, communication objectives and PR strategy;
  • In-depth knowledge of local media industry;
  • Deadline-oriented, meticulous, with great follow-up and reporting skills;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • 2-4 years PR experience required. Agency experience preferred;
  • Bachelor degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field preferred.
