The Team:

The Auctane Strategy & Insights team is responsible for delivering accurate data on business performance & actionable insights to partners across the Auctane e-commerce products, our parent company (Stamps.com), and external partners.  These responsibilities are delivered through the definition & refinement of the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), setting goals against these KPIs, measuring performance against these goals, and recommending (and, when applicable, implementing) actions to drive improved performance. Also, the Strategy & Insights team partners with stakeholders from across the business to guide strategic planning and decisions through the use of external market research and trends from the analysis of internal data.

The Role:

Strategic Imperative:

The Senior Product Analyst is responsible for producing analysis and reporting on product performance (feature usage, engagement, etc.), modeling the impact of product changes, and root cause analysis of customer issues. This role focuses on analyzing data collected from the Auctane subsidiaries, primarily end-user engagement and activity. This role balances analysis activities with active partnering across all functional areas of Auctane.

Primary Objectives:

  1. Display expertise in Auctane subsidiary product user experiences.
  2. Architect, implement, and measure user experience and engagement across all Auctane subsidiaries.
  3. Collaborate with product and technical teams to consult, develop, and track KPIs, automate reporting/process solutions, and perform data infrastructure improvements to meet team needs.
  4. Serve as liaison between business and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable product insights to help make decisions and track downstream impact. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis, modeling, problem-solving, testing, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Essential Position Duties (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks which support the primary objectives):

  • Design and build tactical, strategic, and operational dashboards for use by product partners across all Auctane brands.
  • Develop and maintain user interactive reporting for use by product partners.
  • Leverage historical data and predictive models to identify key historical factors that impact key KPIs, and recommend actions to drive future performance
  • Help define, implement, and support key data feeds from product systems
  • Increase the usage of Auctane’s reporting platform by key users through evangelism, creation of key reports and training
  • Provide actionable analysis on user interactions within all Auctane’s product UIs
  • Provide analysis support to all user experiments
  • Be a thought leader and partner to Product in experiment setups

Required Education and/or Experience:                                                         

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years’ experience. 
  • Five or more (5+) years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more (3+) years’ experience in relational database concepts with expert knowledge of SQL
  • One or more (1+) years of experience managing and developing business intelligence solutions, such as Tableau, Looker, or Sisense.
  • A/B testing experience.
  • Strong track record of learning new tools, technologies, and frameworks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Experience with data analysis in SQL, presentation of data.
  • Experience implementing and using user experience tracking tools.
  • Experience with presenting data in a BI tool.
  • Experience with generalized linear modeling or clustering.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Customer experience acumen is required.
  • Expert level SQL knowledge.
  • Understands descriptive statistics.
  • Strategic Bias - weighing scale vs. expediency and can identify opportunities and risks within existing systems.
  • Ability to communicate results and insights clearly and concisely to management and directors.
  • Able to effectively combine quantitative data and qualitative information to communicate the “So What” of a situation to drive actionable insights.
  • Passion for customers and interest in eCommerce.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to understand and deliver on business needs.
  • Data management skills (cleaning, linking, analyzing, reporting).

Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:                                               

  • High Proficiency with SQL.
  • Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, Mode Analytics or Sisense for Cloud Data teams.
