The Inside Sales team is responsible for increasing new User account acquisition, shipment volumes and subscription revenue for ShipStation.    

The Inside Sales team directly engages with Trial Users on a daily basis to identify the value of ShipStation for their business, resolve user concerns and convert them to ShipStation paid subscribers. The Manager, Inside Sales (Trial Sales) is responsible for directing the activities of the Inside Sales team to improve User satisfaction, trial conversions and subscription revenue generated on a daily basis.

  3. Coaching of staff
  4. Maintains Knowledge on ShipStation

Essential Position Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks)

  1. Staff Management of the Inside Sales Team
    • Directs the daily activities and direction of the Inside Sales Team of 4 or more individuals
    • Conducts weekly 1 on 1 meetings with all employees on the team
    • Ensures strong collaborative team work on sales organization
  2. Achieving Growth and hitting sales targets
    • Designs and executes a strategic sales plan
    • Ensures and directs the team to ensure amazing customer service with trial and converted users
    • Directs the sales team to hit sales quotas on the number of monthly converted trials to paid subscriptions
    • Assists in the recruiting of sales team members
  3. Coaching of staff
    • Ensures the staff continues to learn and develop their skills
    • Continues to give and receive feedback and improve on team sales processes
    • Assists in the designing of sales trainings
  4. Maintains Knowledge on ShipStation
    • Serves as a daily point of contact for technical questions
    • Ensures they are up to date on current knowledge of product including upgrades, new functions and new partner integrations

Internal Candidate Requirement:

  • One or more years (1+) years successful track record at ShipStation
  • Knowledge of ShipStation Workflows

Required Education and/or Experience:                                                  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least Three (3) years’ sales experience preferred
  • One or more(1+) years’ managing/supervising experience preferred
  • Two or more (2+) years’ experience in a client facing role

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Sales Expertise
  • Fulfillment Processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills among a variety of audiences
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Strong ability to build valued business relationships
  • Organized, detail oriented, and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel)
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM
  • ShipStation software a plus

Travel Requirements:

  • 5 – 10% Travel required annually
