The Auctane QA team is responsible for ensuring the quality of the software released to our customers. We accomplish this goal through a mix of manual and automated testing. Members of the team are spread across our different brands and teams within those brands. Members work with Developers, Development Leads, and Product Managers to plan, document, and execute testing of software changes.

The Associate QA Engineer is an entry level position on the QA team. They are expected to have product knowledge of Ship Station, Shipping Easy, Ship Works, Ship Engine, or Integration Partners. They are responsible for manually testing changes to the product area they are assigned under the supervision of the QA Manager, QA Lead, or Sr QA Engineer. They are also expected to create and maintain QA documentation (test cases, test plans, and document testing on assigned tickets). They are expected to increase their knowledge of QA and software development processes through hands on experience, classes, or self directed research.

Primary Objectives:

  • Work with Development and Product Management to ensure software quality 
  • Write and maintain QA documentation: 
  • Help other QA members 
  • Work on learning QA process 

Essential Position Duties:

  • Work with Development and Product Management 
    • Plan and execute testing of software changes 
    • Research issues discovered in test or production environments 
    • Make recommendations for development process improvements 
  • Write and maintain QA Documentation 
    • Document testing on individual tickets (epics, tasks, bugs, etc) 
    • Write and maintain manual test cases 
    • Write and maintain test plans 
  • Assist other QA team members with testing changes 
  • Develop QA/Software Development knowledge

Required Education and/or Experience:                  

  • At least one (1) year of experience in Shipstation, Shipping Easy, ShipWorks, or ShipEngine support/sales
  • Alternatively one (1) year of experience testing web applications or ecommerce

Preferred Education and/or Experience:           

  • Experience using/supporting Ship Station, Shipping Easy, Ship Works, or Ship Engine 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Ship Station, Shipping Easy, Ship Works, or Ship Engine
  • Ability to clearly communicate.
  • Ability to self-directed learning.
  • Ability to pick up skills quickly.
  • Ability to work with others well.

Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:              

  • Experience using Jira for work tracking.

Additional Position Duties: 

  • Sit for prolonged periods of time 
  • Utilize wrist and hands for a prolonged period of time 
  • Walk short distances 
  • Stand for short periods 
  • Speaking and conversing with others
  • Lift up to 25lbs without assistance up to chest height
