The Enterprise Applications team is tasked with enhancing, modifying, and maintaining features and functionality associated with Auctane’s internal applications and tooling.

Strategic Imperative:

The Salesforce Platform Lead is a key member of the Enterprise Applications team, responsible for the administration, architecture, governance, and end-user support of at Auctane. This person will lead the Salesforce Technical Team, working cross-functionally with other members of the EA team as well as stakeholders throughout the business, designing fit-for-purpose solutions to meet the expanding needs of the organization. This person will also serve as a technical consultant, providing insight into business analysis, conducting needs assessments, and configuring the application as required.

Essential Position Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks)

  • Technical and administrative ownership of the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Lead and coach Salesforce team. 
  • Identify and implement improvements to architecture and process. 
  • Align with Sales Operations to create a robust and nimble environment for customer-facing users while adhering to best practices for security and scalability.
  • Assist with the technical evaluation of tools and systems that integrate with Salesforce
  • Lead sandbox management and the process of testing and deploying changes to production.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure data integrity and accessibility for reporting and analytics
  • Conduct technology / solution evaluation and recommend an appropriate solution to support operations business needs.
  • Advise business stakeholders on business process improvement and reengineering opportunities.
  • Design and develop solutions on Salesforce platform to meet end-to-end process requirements to support a globalized operations process using Salesforce functionality (APEX, SOQL, Lightning Components, etc.).
  • Project member through all phases of the project lifecycle, including: Analysis, Requirements Definition, Design, Build & Test, Conversion, Deployment for operations delivery functionality.
  • Support post-deployment activities including knowledge transfer, process documentation and application bug fixes.

Education and/or Experience:                  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Eight or more (8+) years Salesforce Developer and Administration experience.
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification, Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification and one or more Consultant Certifications (Sales, Service, or Community). Platform Developer II Certification is a plus
  • Experience building and leading teams. 
  • Experience deploying and maintaining Salesforce in multiple languages and currencies.
  • Experience with Gainsight,, Zendesk, Looker, and Jira.
  • Successfully administered Salesforce instances of 200+ users.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of coding languages (e.g.: .NET, Java, JavaScript, HTML5) and API integration framework.
  • Strong knowledge of Apex, VisualForce, SOQL/SOSL, IDE and Ajax Toolkit.
  • Demonstration of platform development best practices and design patterns for implementing highly scalable solutions with and understanding of governor limitations in a multitenant environment.
  • Strong knowledge with Salesforce configuration options, data model / architecture, and security model.
  • Strong knowledge of configuring workflows, process builders, and an in-depth understanding of Salesforce Flow.
  • Strong project management skills
