Our Transportation & Logistics Analyst is responsible for optimizing our logistics network by finding innovative ways to maximize costs. This ‘someone’ is ambitious and curious to learn more about the Transportation and shipping process. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get sh*t done! You will make a large impact to our overall organization: directly helping to improve our margin, build industry-leading multi-carrier technology, and being an expert for our customers.
What You'll Do:
- Optimize logistics network by identifying opportunities which maximize cost savings through load planning, carrier performance, dropship, and trailer utilization
- Work with multiple site operations teams to lead and reinforce operational process improvement projects
- Build relationships with third party carriers to plan and execute plans to secure loads against forecasted volume
- Ensure flawless execution of logistical plans and escalate accordingly
- Monitor, measure and improve service level metrics, including on time arrival and on time departure
- Conduct shipping audits and provide recommendations that align with our SOPs and drive departmental KPIs. Align / enable support on new metrics to present and prepare customer facing presentations, including MBRs
- Manage and maintain the data integrity within new platforms
- Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize downstream impacts to our customers
- Develop and share best practices across the shifts and network
- Strong on-the-floor presence to coach, train, and collaborate cross functionally with Operations.
What You'll Need:
- Excellent analytical skills; experience with one or more: SQL, Tableau, Power Bi or other tools used for data analysis.
- 5+ years of experience working for a 3PL or transportation company, specifically carrier brokerage, linehaul management and small parcel carriers (UPS, FDX, Regionals).
- Experience in operational roles (logistics roles preferred)
- Experience with shop floor support and training
- Customer service obsession, with willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
- Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
- Strong communication skills and self-motivated
- Standard work schedule is M-F and will be based onsite. We are a 24/7 business so we will, at times, require flexibility to support our operations during night and weekend hours.
