Role Description: 

ShipBob is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President, Partnerships to run our global partnership efforts. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving growth by creating and expanding high-impact strategic partnerships, with a focus on revenue generation and transformative alliances that benefit our customers, our partners, and ShipBob. In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate closely with senior and executive leaders to shape ShipBob's partnership strategy and execute on opportunities within the technology and retail landscape.

What you'll do:

  • Lead by Example: Be the driving force behind our Partnerships team, defining and implementing clear success metrics and strategies for growth. Enable your team to move faster and more effectively by identifying and cultivating revenue-generating commercial relationships with top-tier technology, agency, supply chain/logistics, and retailer partners. 
  • Partner Relationships: Develop new and deepen existing relationships with technology, agency, and supply chain partners through regular touchpoints, educational programs (both in person and online), business reviews, incentive programs, revenue sharing, and other initiatives, including building or expanding integrations. 
  • Revenue Generation: You and your team will own your numbers! Run efforts to drive millions of dollars in customer revenue through partners via co-marketing, co-selling, white labeling, app store listings, and other business development activities. 
  • Internal Advocacy & Cross-Functional Focus: Serve as the voice and advocate of our ecosystem of partners within ShipBob, collaborating with product, engineering, marketing, account management, sales, and onboarding teams to ensure alignment and successful partnerships. 
  • Integration Strategy: Liaise with our leadership, customer-facing, and product teams to identify new integration opportunities, negotiate terms and contracts with partners, and bring innovative solutions to market. Coordinate with product, engineering, and partner teams on scoping and quality assurance for existing and new integrations. 
  • Reputation Management: Own reputation management with key partners, including app store reviews, listing content, and deal flow. 
  • Retailer Engagement: Forge relationships with major retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Nordstrom) and their ecosystem (e.g., retail brokers, marketplace platforms) to position ShipBob as the default shipping partner for third-party sellers. 
  • Framework Development: Define the framework for ShipBob's partnership strategy, identify areas of opportunity, and scale the infrastructure for execution, including optimizing people, processes, and systems. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to establish robust analytics and feedback loops, enabling continuous refinement and improvement of partnership strategies. 
  • Develop Talent and Build Effective Teams: Create and cultivate an open, aligned, and high performing culture within your team where people can innovate and do their best work in support of our customers and partners. 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. 

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of combined business operations and consulting experience, preferably at a technology or high-growth company. 3-5 years of management consulting experience at a top-tier firm is a plus. 
  • Leadership: Demonstrated inspiring leadership experience, including responsibility for business results in a fast-paced, multi-function environment. 
  • Partnership Expertise: Experience in establishing high-impact, revenue-generating commercial relationships. 
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders ranging from senior executives to individual contributors. 
  • Organization: Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, with a solid ability to prioritize execution and mentor others. 
  • Adaptability: Comfortable managing changing priorities, learning new skills, and building consensus across varied senior stakeholder groups. 
  • Ownership: A dependable leader who takes responsibility for personal and team success. 
  • Technical Aptitude: While not required to write code, a solid understanding of integrations, APIs, and integration functionality is essential. 
  • Business Development Skills: Maturity in business development skills, with the ability to influence and respond to crises when necessary. 
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Self-starter tendencies and the ability to create and execute a roadmap autonomously. 
  • Detail Orientation: Attention to detail in written and verbal communication, especially when interfacing with high-revenue partners and C-level executives. 
  • Hands-On Approach: Willingness to engage directly with partner contacts, internal stakeholders, and merchants to solve problems and deliver results. 
  • Scaling Skills: Ability to "scale yourself and the team" to meet revenue targets by prioritizing, automating, and leveraging others when possible.
