Title:  Merchant Success Specialist

Location: Remote in India

Role Description:

The Merchant Success Specialist (MSS) will join ShipBob’s growing Merchant Success team responsible for understanding the unique strategic needs of each of our merchants and delivering massive value to help facilitate their growth and success. The MSS will manage a portfolio of Shipbob's medium size merchants. This role will build and manage solid partnerships by working in concert with our merchants to do the following:

  • Be a strategic partner with the merchant
  • Enable merchant to achieve success by helping them grow their business
  • Serve as an escalation point for Merchants 
  • Work with Merchants and cross-collaboratively with the ShipBob team to deliver against success criteria.
  • Build solid relationships through regular proactive health checks, phone, and email correspondence to ensure a positive business impact.
  • Own the outcomes of partnership with Merchant, including risk management and demonstrating positive value against success criteria.

What you’ll do:

Own and manage a book of SMB Clients/Merchants and be accountable for maintaining high satisfaction levels from their usage of Shipbob services. 

  • Consultation: 
  1. Understand merchant’s needs, goals and continually re-evaluate their success criteria to set right expectations of their partnership with Shipbob. 
  2. Establish regular cadence with C level stakeholders & Operations team at Merchant’s end and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews for the entire book of accounts. 
  3. Educate merchants on Shipbob processes and policies as well as upcoming product roadmap and releases. 
  • Adoption: Marry merchant’s objectives with Shipbob’s capabilities and drive adoption of Shipbob’s product features and offerings. Arrange/ conduct product trainings as and when needed.
  • Risk management:  
  1. Identify potential escalation situations proactively and cross collaborate internally to drive resolution on such issues. 
  2. Work closely with Support/ Merchant care team to proactively monitor ongoing support requests and be ready to take charge before merchant sentiment gets impacted due to unforeseen reasons.  
  • Revenue Retention: Be responsible for maintaining the revenue from your overall book of accounts and devising merchant focused strategies to increase it with time. 
  • Logo Retention: Become trusted advisor for your merchants and deliver best in class services to maintain high satisfaction and minimize churn. 
  • Cross Sell/ Upsell: Understand merchant’s business including their product offerings, customer demography, manufacturing locations and future growth plans and align this understanding with Shipbob’s offerings to create expansion opportunities. 
  • Upskilling: Demonstrate solid understanding of Shipbob’s technology and fulfilment software within 6 months of joining.  
  • You will be working in US Central Standard Time zone (7:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST) and support our merchants globally.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. 

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to express oneself with confidence.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in account management/customer success in a SaaS based environment.
  • Keen perceptive intelligence in assessing merchant needs and driving solutions to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and in-person mediums.
  • Experience collaborating cross-departmentally to deliver comprehensive solutions for merchants.
  • PowerPoint and Excel skills.
