We are looking for a full-stack developer in Shift4Shops who possesses outstanding programming and problem-solving skills, with a great passion for developing beautiful, innovative applications, and is very familiar with the .NET framework (Standard and Core), web development, microservices architecture, API solutions, and design patterns. The position will be responsible for the server-side web application logic, APIs, and cloud apps, as well as for the integration of the front-end part, always ensuring the performance of the applications and working on both new and existing modules. This role will work closely with Product Owners and QA analysts, often required to refactor existing code and also to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.

This is located in Tampa, FL to work 4x/week in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop functional and sustainable web applications with clean codes
  • Write reusable code and libraries
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Refactor and improve existing code
  • Stay up to date with current best practices
  • Conduct UI tests and optimize performance
  • Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve applications
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and system administrators
  • Mentors junior and intermediate developers on the team
  • Stay current with the most common vulnerabilities on the web (owasp top 10). Identify potential gaps and design solutions
  • Participate in conferences and educational programs
  • Follow new and emerging technologies

 

Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Fluent with functional and object-­oriented languages and design patterns
  • Knowledge of selected programming languages, libraries and frameworks (e.g. C#, Javascript, VBScript, React, and Angular)
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. Redis, Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (Azure)
  • Experience working with teams across the globe in various time zones.
  • Experience with messaging architecture (RabbitMQ or ASB)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/AKS
  • Experience working with eCommerce platforms
  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA
  • Experience with agile product development, notably Scrum and Kanban.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the production system.
  • Provide detailed feedback for colleagues via code review.
  • Start toward an understanding of a new language or framework.
  • Deploy several builds to a continuous integration pipeline.
  • Be comfortable producing test cases for several projects.
  • Set up staging and production environments.
  • Own at least one major project.
  • Become an integral member of the engineering team.
  • Contribute to architecture design for both large and small scale systems.
  • Provide valuable feedback on optimization or refactoring for existing systems.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in Node.js, Ember.js, Express.js, Linux, Mac, MySQL, Docker, Git, AWS, Semantic-UI or Bootstrap.
  • Unix system administration and shell scripts.
  • Familiarity with unit testing and high code coverage (Mocha, Xunit experience a plus).
  • Writing modular, maintainable code.
  • Clean and organized code. Adheres to code styles.
  • Experience designing, building, and shipping websites, software, and/or mobile apps.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical topics to non-technical people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub.
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and have an open mind.
