Senior Master Data Analyst

Massillon, OH (Onsite T, W, Th)

 

The Senior Master Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of critical business data across various systems within the organization. This role requires advanced knowledge of data management practices, including data governance, data integration, and ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy and quality. The Senior Master Data Analyst collaborates with key business units and IT to establish and maintain effective data management practices, ultimately supporting data-driven decision-making across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master Data Management (MDM)
    • Lead the management and continuous improvement of master data processes, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with business goals.
    • Identify opportunities for automating and streamlining data management processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Update and maintain master data records related to customers, suppliers, products, materials, and other critical business data entities.
    • Review and ensure master data records are in compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Data Quality & Integrity:
    • Oversee the monitoring, cleansing, and validation of master data, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and accuracy across all systems.
    • Perform regular audits of master data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve data quality.
    • Develop and manage data standards, ensuring master data attributes are categorized correctly and aligned with organizational guidelines.
    • Monitor the lifecycle of master data records, including updates, deactivations, and discontinuations, ensuring it is reflected accurately across all systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex master data issues in a timely manner, working with IT and business units to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
  • Data Governance & Strategy:
    • Develop, implement, and enforce data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure data quality and compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Lead the monitoring and enforcement of data governance standards across the organization.
    • Ensure that master data management practices comply with relevant data privacy regulations, security policies, and industry standards.
  • System Integration & Data Modeling:
    • Lead efforts for integrating master data into ERP and other enterprise systems.
    • In partnership with IT, develop and maintain data models and structures to enhance data accessibility.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with business units (e.g., finance, supply chain, IT, and operations) to understand data requirements and align master data management with business needs.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure new master data records are correctly set up in the system.
  • Training & Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to junior analysts and team members, promoting best practices in master data management.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Generate and present data quality reports, KPIs, and dashboards to senior leadership, providing insights into data management performance and areas for improvement.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Manage timelines and resources for master data initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Management, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related field. Previous experience with master data management (MDM) is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft excel.  Experience with data management, integration tools and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data stewardship, data quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve complex data issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience in leading teams, providing mentorship, and driving change management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of business process management (BPM) and process automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing cross-functional data-related projects, preferably with knowledge of Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Experience with data management the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Currently reside in Ohio
