Senior Data Warehouse Engineer

Massillon, Ohio (Hybrid Schedule)  

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Data Warehouse Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and managing data warehouse solutions, with a particular focus on integrating and utilizing Power BI for business intelligence and analytics.

Your Seat at the Table:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Data Warehouse Solutions: Create and maintain efficient data warehouse architecture, data models, and databases to support business intelligence and analytics needs
  • Power BI Integration: Develop and implement Power BI semantic models, dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Data Strategy and Governance: Work with stakeholders to define and implement data strategies, ensuring data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • ETL Processes: Design, program, and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient data flow and integration
  • Data Quality and Performance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance optimization of the data warehouse
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and IT team members to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions
  • Documentation: Document all data warehouse architecture changes and choices

What you Bring to the Table:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of progressive experience in data modeling/design/engineering and real-world experience with end-to-end development of designed solutions. Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Engineer or similar role, with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.  Ability to provide leadership to other developers
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. Strong knowledge of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

 Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency and/or experience in SQL Server programming and job management, SSIS, SSAS, Boomi Integration software
  • Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, Fabric, Data Lakehouse technology and best practice usage
  • Experience designing and implementing advanced data solutions using Databricks or Fabric, focusing on scalability, performance, and business value
  • Demonstrated ability to move from on-prem to a cloud modern data platform
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with Power BI workspaces, security, user/permission management, continuous pipeline deployment
  • Knowledge of new tools and trends of BI technologies
  • Familiarity with data governance including data org structures including best practice operating models and intake processes
  • Exposure to AI/ML driven analytics/automation and Python/R programming is also a plus, but not required.
