Determine EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements and specifications for Battery Electric Vehicle. Ensure good EMC design practice internally and with suppliers. Develop and perform EMC tests to ensure components, systems, and vehicle are compliant with all applicable EMC standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with powertrain, chassis, body, passive safety, infotainment and ADAS/AD divisions on EMC concept. Determine component, system, and vehicle level EMC requirements and specifications.
Guide internal and supplier designs for adherence to good EMC design practice.
Develop EMC test plans; Perform EMC testing per requirements detailed in international EMC standards and test procedures to ensure components, systems, and whole vehicle are compliant with all applicable EMC standards and regulations. Generate detailed EMC test reports.
Analyze root cause of EMC compliance issues and propose mitigation actions.
Support the regulatory approvals process, including the preparation, review, and submittal of reports and other documentation to gain regulatory approval and/or certification from various agencies and organizations of different countries/regions.
Summarize the EMC related work status on a regular basis and report to management.
Required Education and Experience
BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
3+ years of experience in automotive EMC testing.
Knowledge with automotive EMC standards and regulatory requirements.
Working knowledge of EMC test instruments (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, antennas, etc.).
Familiar with vehicle electrical system development cycle.
Working knowledge of FMEA, DVP&R, and functional safety analysis
Strong verbal and written language skills and ability to communicate effectively.
Good teamwork and learning skills.
Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
