The Industrial Electrician performs a variety of duties to support the operation, repair, maintenance, overhaul, and modification of equipment electrical systems and the plant power distribution system.

Must presently hold an Electrician Journeyman card, or have served a bonafide apprenticeship with certificate or have 8 years documented practical experiences by means of notarized affidavit, or present a UAW Journeyperson’s card.

Primary duties include

• Must work safely.
• Must interact with other trades, Supervisors, Team Leaders, production team members, quality team members, etc., daily and do this in a manner that promotes respect for the individual.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be willing to participate in multi-craft work teams as required to complete assignments with an emphasis on team trouble shooting of failures to minimize downtime. 
• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment as required and must be able to be licensed to operate this equipment in the facility. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, fork trucks, vertical lifts, boom lifts, cranes, etc.
• Must be willing to enter confined spaces for work, must be confined space entrant trainable (includes doctor exam, OSHA standard pulmonary function test), must be clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator, and must display competency handling confined space entry equipment and dealing with confined space rescue procedures.
• Must be able to life 50 pounds unassisted, and must be able to bend, twist, stoop, climb, etc., to complete tasks.
• Must be willing and able to work overhead and above ground.
• Must be willing and able to install assembly, repair, maintain, test and troubleshoot all machinery, equipment, and systems in the facility.
• Must be knowledgeable of applicable codes and regulations.
• Must be able to read and interpret blue print drawings, including shop drawings and erection plans, schematic drawings, and assembly drawings, and equipment technical data as required to develop preventative maintenance tasks and solve problems.
• Responsible for the development and the continuous improvement of Planned Maintenance throughout the facility.
• Responsible for the proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost-effective manner, for locating, diagnosing, and repairing sources of trouble, and for the priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, etc.
• Responsible to modify, install and maintain machinery and systems in compliance with company standards and procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Dismantle, repair and/or replace, reassemble and troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuits and components.
• Operating all types of test equipment including: test lamps, volt-ohm meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Cutting, reaming, threading, and fitting into place conduit plumb and level.
• Operation of hand benders and hydraulic power benders depending on size and type of conduit being installed. Installation of hangars to support systems.
• Alter, maintain, repair, and install wiring, cables, switches, controls, fuse boxes, breaker panels, instrument panels, distribution panels, power circuits, transformers, motor control centers, starters, PLC’s, instruments, busway, bus plugs, lighting fixtures, receptacles, etc., according to the code.
• Modifying, adjusting, maintaining, repairing, or installing electric motors, electrical equipment, and instruments.
• Balancing circuit loads.
• Trouble shooting PLC’s, robots, variable frequency drives, etc.
• Performing work within the parameters of the NEC.
