Job Purpose
Support the overall manufacturing process through the supervision of Union Material Handling personnel and coordination of material flow to the manufacturing line to build the product.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. The overall supervision of material handling personnel.
2. Overall material flow of all components used to build the product.
3. Communication with Operators in Materials and Production to solve and improve material flow.
4. Support and address min/max processes for internal materials and logistics.
5. Coordinate line side and work cell set up and overall material flow.
6. Support and address inventory discrepancies through cycle counting and root cause analysis.
7. Implement methods and procedures for disposition of damaged and non-conforming material while assessing cost and responsibility.
8. Manage and monitor the proper use of material handling equipment
9. The overall safety and conduct of the material handling personnel.
10. Support Engineering Change Notification and Production Trial Run processes through material segregation and tracking.
11. Facilitate and utilize standard work processes for material handling personnel.
12. Other responsibilities as necessary.
Required Education and Experience
1. Associates degree or 3 to 5 years of suitable work experience.
2. Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills, strong team work attitude.
4. Extensive experience with Word, Excel, and like programs preferred.
5. Detail and accuracy orientated performer.
6. Experience in Union environment preferred.
7. Knowledge of continuous improvement methods preferred.
