Overview of the job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to take on a leading role in some of our projects, from conception to implementation. This role demands a proactive and highly skilled candidate, who can mentor junior team members, uphold best practices in data science and programming, and always seek to refine our team's methodologies.
In this role, you will get to:
- Lead end-to-end AI and Data science projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Develop and implement best practices in data science and programming within the team.
- Potentially lead research initiatives and contribute to the publication of scientific papers
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of our team's operations and workflows.
- Contribute and lead a range of projects including time series forecasting for retail, facial recognition, recommender systems, custom large language models etc
- Manage the development and deployment of AI solutions on multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
You’ll be successful if you have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of leading projects.
- Expertise in Python and its libraries such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas, and TensorFlow.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and familiarity with Ubuntu or similar Linux distributions.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the capacity to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is preferred.
