Position Description

We are looking for a skilled and adaptive Software Engineer to join our team at Sensei Ag, a leader in indoor farming technology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in both backend and frontend development, with a significant focus on enhancing our mobile applications and integrating various software platforms. You will be responsible for building and improving backend systems, developing mobile interfaces, and crafting solutions using both traditional programming and low-code tools for web applications.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will engage in identifying product requirements, designing robust software solutions, and coding efficiently to support our mission-driven product development aimed at optimizing indoor farming practices. Our focus is on enabling data-driven farm management through cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define and refine software requirements, ensuring seamless integration across backend services and React Native front-end components.
Design and develop robust RESTful APIs using FastAPI, crafting user interfaces with React and React Native, and employ low-code platforms for rapid prototyping and application development.
Continually maintain and improve API endpoints and user interfaces, integrating security protocols across the system by adhering to best practices for authentication and authorization.
Lead integration efforts for our services with various systems, including business software, data platforms, and hardware devices, to enhance cross-functionality and system robustness.
Optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability, ensuring high-quality service delivery for both web and mobile platforms, while also focusing on the front-end performance improvements.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, committed to best coding practices and constantly seeking to elevate the standard of our software assets.
Actively participate in code reviews, providing insightful feedback and advocating for code quality and architecture enhancements.
Troubleshoot, debug, and quickly resolve issues across the full technology stack, particularly those related to APIs and frontend, effectively pinpointing and addressing underlying causes.
Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in software development, with a particular focus on API architecture, front-end development techniques, and the utilization of low-code development tools.

Minimum years of experience required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with substantial expertise in Python and API development using frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

Required Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

Solid understanding of full-stack development processes including basic front-end technologies, especially React or React Native.
Proficiency in database management and ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy, with a good grasp of SQL databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Strong experience in crafting comprehensive unit tests and familiar with testing frameworks like pytest and Jest.
Knowledge of Git, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and asynchronous programming.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Capability to work with evolving requirements and an interest in requirement discovery processes, reflecting an adaptable and proactive approach.

Preferred Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

Experience or familiarity with NetSuite and other business integration platforms is highly advantageous.
Knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platforms, preferably Docker and Kubernetes.
Background in industrial software development, manufacturing, agriculture, or related fields.
Experience with hardware device integration is a plus.

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma required; college degree in computer science, IT or similar, preferred.

NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT This Non-Disclosure Agreement (“Agreement”) is dated as of the date set forth below (the “Effective Date”) and is by and between the undersigned (“Recipient”) and Sensei Ag Holdings, Inc. (“Discloser”) for the benefit of Discloser, entities and persons affiliated with Discloser, and its and their respective members, managers and employees (the “Discloser Affiliates”). This Agreement establishes the confidentiality and use obligations of Recipient with regard to certain information disclosed or made available by Discloser to Recipient for the purpose stated in Section 2 below. The parties agree as follows: 1. Definition. “Confidential Information” as used in this Agreement means any and all information disclosed or made available by Discloser to Recipient or to which Recipient otherwise becomes privy in connection with interactions or discussions with Discloser or Discloser’s representatives, whether disclosed in written or other tangible form, or by oral, visual, or any other means. Confidential Information includes, without limitation, all information (i) that should reasonably be understood by Recipient to be of a secret, confidential or personal nature to Discloser or any third party, whether because of legends or other markings, the circumstances of disclosure, or the nature of the information itself and (ii) information relating to Discloser’s or Discloser Affiliates’ financial matters, investments, business operations, strategies, organizational structure or organizational charts, or other non-public information about Discloser or Discloser Affiliates, as well as the existence of any actual or proposed transaction, agreement or relationship between Discloser and Recipient and the terms of this Agreement. “Confidential Information” does not include any information that (a) was publicly available at the time it was communicated to Recipient by Discloser or (b) becomes publicly available after it was communicated to Recipient by Discloser through no fault of Recipient. 2. Purpose. Recipient may use the Confidential Information solely for the purpose of a business opportunity of mutual interest (the “Purpose”), and not for any other purpose. 3. Obligations. Recipient will, at all times and notwithstanding any termination or expiration of this Agreement, hold in strict confidence and not use or disclose any Confidential Information to any third party, except as strictly necessary on a need-to-know basis in connection with the Purpose to Recipient’s financial or legal representatives who have signed confidentiality agreements or are otherwise bound by confidentiality obligations at least as restrictive as those contained herein. Recipient shall take reasonable precautions to safeguard the Confidential Information from unauthorized disclosure and will immediately notify Discloser upon discovery of any loss or unauthorized disclosure of any Confidential Information. Notwithstanding the above, Recipient shall not be in violation of this Agreement with regard to any disclosure in response to a valid order by a court or other governmental body, provided that Recipient provides Discloser with prior written notice of such disclosure in order to permit Discloser to seek to avoid or minimize the required disclosure and/or to obtain an appropriate protective order or other appropriate relief to ensure that any Confidential Information so disclosed is maintained in confidence to the maximum extent possible. Nothing in this Agreement shall obligate Discloser to proceed with any transaction, and each Party reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate any discussions or negotiations contemplated by this Agreement. 4. Return or Destruction of Confidential Information. At any time after the disclosure, immediately upon Discloser’s request, Recipient agrees to promptly: (i) return all previously disclosed Confidential Information to Discloser or (ii) destroy or erase (on all forms of recordation) all Confidential Information in Recipient’s possession or control and certify such destruction of all copies (including any archival copies) of the Confidential Information (and delete all forms of recordation in whatever media stored, whether in existence now or invented in the future). 5. Termination. The termination of any other transaction, agreement or relationship between or involving the parties shall not relieve Recipient of its obligations with respect to Confidential Information disclosed pursuant to the terms of this Agreement. 6. Severability. If any of the provisions of this Agreement are held invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall be unimpaired. 7. No Warranty. ALL CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” DISCLOSER DOESN’T MAKES ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS OR PERFORMANCE OF ANY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION, OR WITH RESPECT TO NON-INFRINGEMENT OR OTHER VIOLATION OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY OR OF RECIPIENT. 8. No License. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to grant any rights to Recipient under any patent, mask work right or copyright of Discloser, nor shall this Agreement grant Recipient any rights in or to the Confidential Information of Discloser except as expressly set forth in this Agreement. 9. Remedies. Recipient agrees that any violation or threatened violation of this Agreement may cause irreparable injury to Discloser, entitling Discloser to seek injunctive relief in addition to all legal remedies. 10. General. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of California without reference to conflict of laws principles. This Agreement may not be amended except by a writing signed by both Discloser and Recipient. Neither party shall assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of the other party. Any assignment in violation of this provision will be void. This Agreement will be binding upon Recipient’s heirs, successors and assigns. This Agreement sets forth the entire understanding and agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all other oral or written representations and understandings. *
