POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary role of the Water Maintenance Technician in the Engineering Department is to maintain the
quality and pristine appearance of the property's assets. Skim, vacuum, clean pools, and spas. Maintain
all pool and stream related equipment while establishing accurate record keeping. Assist in preventative
maintenance, perform ongoing inspections, report defects, comply with all safety guidelines and
practices. comply with local, county, state and federal government codes, laws and requirements. The
Water Technician will need to work a flexible schedule, covering both am (6:00am to 2:30pm) and
swing (2:30pm to 11:00pm) shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Visually inspect and clean all strainers and pumps
- Feed Koi and prepare, store, and protect food
- Back wash sand filters (Koi Pond, Cascade, Garden Lake, Main Pool)
- Vacuum all pools, spas, and fountains
- Clean algae and debris from Koi Point, Villa Streams, strainer baskets
- Weekly inspect pumps, heaters, oil levels, motors
- Order pool and water supplies
- Inventory and organize supplies and storage areas
- Replace CO2 cylinders and swap tanks
- Disassemble and clean filters for water features, spas, and fountains
- Clean stone garden water features in spa tub areas and Casitas
- Grease pumps and motors, make repairs, fix leaks, change bearings
- Check lighting and replace as needed
- Assist Engineering staff as needed
- Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and guidelines
- Report any hazards, injuries and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested by supervisor
- Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor In both verbal and nonverbal communication
- Take ownership of all guest requests and be proactive in ensuring resolution as needed
- Maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene at all times and wear uniform as directed
- Uphold Sensei values in daily practices
- Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests
- Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor

- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
- Must be 18 years or older
Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend/stoop
- Must be able to lift over 25lbs
- Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions, including high outdoor temperatures
- Must have attention to detail
- Must be able to work shifts as scheduled, Including holidays and weekends
Required Licenses/Certifications
- A CPO Certified Pool/Spa Operator Certification is a plus
- Additional Pool/Spa Certification is a plus
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and an acceptable MVR (Moving Vehicle Record)
