SELF ID is a new company focused on solving the issue of digital identity. Instead of looking at identity as a problem to solve through “authentication”, we’ve realized that the context is much bigger and more exciting. Our solution enables users to co-own their data with the platforms they create that data with, and then gives them the ability to share, give, distribute and even monetize that data as we put the individual at the center of their electronic universe and create the world’s first “digital genome”.

Our company is founded by leading inventors and investors in the crypto space, and includes founders of some of the top 4-5 crypto projects by market cap. With the expertise we have in the space, the experience we have across our founders, and the excitement around this particular type of technology, we are confident that this project takes on a life of its own. We want to be sure we’re enlisting the help of the right people to help us on that journey.

SELF ID has recently closed a seed round of funding and is launching this fall.

Frontend Delivery Lead

Self is seeking a senior level Engineer with deep expertise and experience delivering compelling user experiences across desktop and mobile applications.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Head of Engineering that can be held anywhere in the world.

Core Skills:

  • Senior-level experience building experiences on top of React and Redux
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript w/experience in Node + TypeScript as added bonuses.
  • Experience working with teams that build RESTful APIs
  • Mastery of best practices around web standards, cross-browser compatibility (modern), and baseline accessibility.
  • Strong interest and experience w/CSS and skills building responsive applications across modern browsers and devices.
  • Repeated experience working cross-functionally and commonly acting as a doer more than a delegator.
  • Solid experience with fully-remote communication skills.

What you’ll do at SELF ID:

  • Establish and lead our frontend practice that will deliver all application interfaces that are consumer-facing for Self.
  • Collaborate with product management to ensure reliable delivery of user experiences to market.
  • Drive excellent Frontend Engineering documentation practices in coordination with Self’s documentation lead. 

What Excites Us:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying compelling user interfaces across web and mobile.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey intricate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000 per annum
