DESCRIPTION: Our DHS Sector has upcoming requirements for staff to provide IT program and business process improvement services for a large DHS component. The Database Support Specialist plans and supports specific business, management, functional, technical, professional or policy areas of the project. Key responsibilities include: Identifying issues; conducting analysis and assessment of these issues and providing inputs to major program/project leaders.

LABOR CATEGORY / DUTIES:
• Support the development of a framework to effectively manage IT projects and initiatives to ensure timely and accurate reporting at an enterprise level. • Assist in the determination of and execute processes that streamline existing business processes across the organization. • Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential risks that may impact schedule and deliverables. • Engage with IT stakeholders to improve and support process improvement. • Support executive leadership to identify, develop and document organizational goals and priorities. • Provide guidance and recommendations on the improvement of organizational deliverables with successful implementation. • In coordination with IT executive leadership, create and maintain an operational strategic plan, which is reviewed annually, that Divisions leverage to create goals and track progress. • Coordinate with IT program and project managers in the final and crosswalk activities of program/project briefings, schedules, communication and implementation plans. • Plans and supports specific business, management, functional, technical, professional or policy areas of the project. • Supports or leads complex efforts by providing inputs and preparing high-level briefings of strategic goals. • Identifies issues by conducting complex analysis and assessment of these issues. • Provides advice to major program/project leaders.
• 2 years of related experience. • Business process analysis experience in a federal agency IT environment.
