FUNCTIONAL / LABOR CATEGORY: Military Payroll Analyst
POSITION TITLE: Subject Matter Expert, Level 3
LOCATION: Crystal City, Virginia
This position is for a financial analyst to support the audit initiatives and improving upon current audit infrastructure within the Military Payroll business process team. The role includes, but is not limited to: providing audit liaison support, Service Providers, auditors, and other external stakeholders; monitoring Corrective Action Plan (CAP) implementation status to facilitate accountability across HQDA, Program Offices, commands, Direct Reporting Units, and service providers; identifying improvements to Army’s budget execution within the Military Payroll business process and sub-processes; and providing guidance and assistance in developing and implementing strategies (corrective actions) to remediate findings.
EDUCATION: • Master’s degree OR certification required (Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management)
CERTIFICATION(s): • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Defense Financial Manager, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or Project Management Professional
LABOR CATEGORY / DUTIES: • 6 years of experience AND advanced degree/cert • Knowledge of Military Payroll business process • prior work experience with DFAS and/or Army/ARNG/USAR/FORSCOM/G-1. • Planning, supervision, review and completion of work; monitor the status of the engagement; advise and consult with engagement leadership on all significant developments; act as primary liaison to the client; reviews work papers and oversees the drafting of reports.
REQUIREMENTS: • Experience working the financial improvement audit readiness efforts (FIAR). • Experience with internal controls and compliance testing, and process improvement. • Must be able to write workpapers including findings, root causes & recommendations. • Experience with Army financial management process and systems (GFEBS and G-Army) and military pay.
