TRAVEL: This position may require both CONUS and/or OCONUS travel between 20-50%, with time frames of travel ranging, but possibly up to two weeks per trip.

DESCRIPTION:
Sehlke Consulting is currently seeking qualified candidates to provide Accounting / Financial Management support to the Department of the Navy with Asset Management and audit readiness efforts aligned to priority areas supporting Real Property, Inventory and Related Property, and Operating Materials and Supplies. The candidate will possess skills in audit readiness, corrective action remediation, accounting and financial statement reconciliation in the Department of Defense. Preferred candidates will possess experience in accounting for assets; and experience conducting walkthroughs, site visits, and assessing key operational and financial controls for Department of Defense and/or fortune 500 assets. This work will include the support of establishing, implementing, assessing, and overseeing implementation and remediation plans to resolve material weaknesses and other significant deficiency conditions.

Financial Manager, SME I

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant business or technical field; Finance, Accounting, ro Business.

CERTIFICATION: Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have at least 1 year of full-time (excluding internships) experience including at least six (6) months of experience supporting a Federal Government agency in a relevant functional area.

CERTIFICATION: CDFM, CGFM, or CPA desired.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have 5 years of full-time (excluding internships) experience within the past 10 years of progressive experience in the accounting field of Federal Government agencies or Fortune 500 companies.

LABOR CATEGORY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Audit support: mature and enhance audit infrastructure for efficient and effective audit response and coordination;
• Provide strategic guidance and technical assistance for all phases of audit preparation and remediation; assist Government with technical expertise during development and monitoring of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs);
• Support the coordination and monitoring of progress to remediate Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs)/CAPs;
• Provide Financial Program Policy analysis to develop and implement policy and guidance;
• Provide support towards Business Process Improvement: Support and define business process improvement initiatives. Conduct reviews of current business processes and key management controls to determine process improvements. Assist and support in the implementation of these business process improvements;
• Assist with execution of the PP&E and I&RP Corrective Action Plans
• Develop and release necessary standard guidance to ensure Existence and Completeness of key asset categories;
• Develop work plans to ensure physical inventory (or acceptable substitution) is completed for key asset categories;
• Ensure completion of APSR to TB reconciliations are completed with incremental timeline improvement each month;
• Perform root cause analysis on APSR to TB reconciliation variances;
