We’re looking for someone who is excited to join a team where they can proactively identity and implement systems and process improvements to help grow and scale the business. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Perform revenue accounting close activities for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses
  • Review and assess sales contracts for appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606, performing research & documenting conclusions, as needed. 
  • Collaborate with the upstream operational teams on improving revenue recognition processes & ensuring system accuracy. 
  • Lead preparation and documentation of workpapers for first year SOX implementation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company wide initiatives, such as new product launches, new go-to-market strategies, and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Support the quarterly and year-end inquiries, requests, and activities originating from our internal and external auditors
  • Maintain a focus on continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing time/resource saving solutions 
  • Coach more junior team members on revenue recognition concepts, as needed
  • Execute special projects as needed

You’re a great fit if you have…

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in accounting or finance related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with GAAP revenue recognition under ASC 606 at a SaaS or subscription revenue based company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Public accounting experience (additional operational experience a plus)
  • Experience with high growth technology companies
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues independently
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
  • A collaborative working style, experience working across the company with teams of varied size to achieve common goals

Bonus Points:

  • CPA or equivalent
  • Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, Stripe, Salesforce and/or similar systems
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of SOX controls

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary Range: $68,096 - $93,632

Rest of Colorado:

Salary Range: $59,584 - $81,928

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
