Tribe and Karma of the Team:

As part of the Marketing org, the Brand team tells Segment’s story to the world and is responsible for creating compelling, effective branded moments that provide value to our customers. The Visual Designer will play an integral role in conceptualizing and designing the key touch points for Segment across our website, digital marketing, and beyond. The ideal candidate is an excellent web and mobile designer with a strong skill for illustration and enthusiasm for collaboration with cross-functional partners and creative direction leadership. This position requires a proven record in design and art direction for the web and a strong knowledge of interactive creative development processes.

Drive and Focus of the Role:

  • Conceptualize and create holistic, innovative, immersive visual design solutions for business and brand requirements
  • Ideate, wireframe, mock-up, prototype, and develop high-fidelity responsive web/mobile designs and illustrations
  • Leverage, maintain, and contribute to evolving the Segment design language to build immersive, beautiful, and effective experiences that provide value and delight to our audience
  • Creatively translate business requirements into inspiring designs to simplify messaging
  • Rely on gold-standard UI/UX philosophies to craft seamless, frictionless, effective experiences
  • Support the Creative Director in safeguarding and pushing the boundaries of our brand identity 
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Engineering team to safeguard and push the boundaries of our design system
  • Partner with the Engineering team to ensure core Segment brand elements are translating correctly in our digital properties

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience at an advertising agency or in-house design team leading projects from conceptualization to completion
  • Familiarity with design for SaaS or B2B tech companies
  • Master of key design tools, including Adobe CC and Figma; proficiency in Lottie is a big plus
  • Experience working within a design system and collaborating with engineers to grow and evolve the design system
  • Portfolio demonstrates strong visual, typographic, and illustration principles
  • Excellent familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for desktop and mobile platforms
  • Understand the value of design consistency and cohesion in maintaining and building upon a strong visual language through design libraries
  • Experience working with development teams and a strong grasp of gold-standard UI/UX for seamless communication
  • Continually raise the bar for design excellence and explore the possibilities of new forms of expression
  • Committed to maintaining an excellent, pixel-perfect eye for detail and consistency
  • Portfolio demonstrates your ability to push a brand forward with fresh ideas across immersive experiences
  • Strong interest in web trends 
  • Gracefully welcome cross-functional collaboration and Creative Director feedback
  • Strong sense of ownership and are at ease in managing your time and deadlines

Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary Range: $61,888 - $85,096

Rest of Colorado:

Salary Range: $54,152 - $74,459

Non Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
