We’re looking for someone who is excited to join a team where they can assist with system implementations and process improvements to help grow and scale the business. 

What you’ll do 

Segment currently has operations in 5 countries and 15 U.S. states, with more coming soon. Under general supervision, the Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for:
  •  Own payroll processing for approximately 500 employees across multiple states and countries
  •  Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Supervise payroll staff, including auditing entries and first-level escalations
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service to employee questions regarding their pay
  • Prepare off-cycle payrolls such as bonuses, terminations, and stock entries
  • Own payroll year-end reporting processes, including annual reconciliations and audit support
  • Assist with the implementation of Ceridian Dayforce for US payroll processing
  • Participate in an evaluation of global payroll solutions
  • Provide payroll support for an HRIS system implementation 
  • Own payroll journal entry and reconciliations
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of five years experience processing multi-state payroll
  • You have supervisory experience
  • You have a strong attention to detail
  • You have the ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
  • You have a collaborative working style, experience working across the company, with teams of varied size, to achieve common goals
