Secret Escapes is a members-only flash sales business focused on inspirational travel trading in over 20 different countries.  We plan to double the size of our development and UX design teams this year in order to power our mission to become the world’s best.

We are seeking talented User Experience Researchers to help our UX Design team ‘Empower people to discover their next escape’, you will help us test ideas and hypothesis using qualitative and quantitative research with continuous learning cycles in order to produce a great product for our users.

You are a self-starter who enjoys a rapid pace and wants to make a difference. You need to be comfortable with tackling problems, championing simplicity and communicating research findings early and often in order to make our solutions more right.

How the magic happens

The technology team is a mix of web developers, mobile developers and designers working closely together across 5 locations; London, Berlin, Bristol,  Poznan (Poland) and Skopje (Macedonia). We communicate and collaborate with a variety of tools including Slack,Google Hangouts and Team Viewer and when we do get together in the same place we like to play pool or ping pong  and gather round the Playstation.

What you will be working on

  • Plan and conduct quantitative studies to evaluate impact of product changes and gather insights at scale
  • Plan and conduct qualitative studies, including field observations and interviews, remote and in-person usability studies for existing and future products
  • Identify and explore opportunities through research methods and co-design sessions to help define product roadmaps, vision, and strategy
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, analysts, marketing and engineers to ensure the research you deliver is integrated into every aspect of the product
  • Communicate research findings via presentations, reports or any other creative approach you invent
  • Adapt and innovate research methods to meet product needs by delivering high quality insights in a fast paced work environment

Role Requirements

  • Compelling communication
  • Command of a broad set of qualitative and user-centered design methods
  • Basic understanding of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistical concepts
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams
  • Experience of practising Lean UX in an Agile environment
