Scientific Communications Writer

Seaport Therapeutics is seeking someone in Scientific Communications.  In this role you will be responsible for  supporting scientific communications including publications, abstracts, internal scientific platform/scientific statement development, and other content development for portfolio

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable/responsible for supporting scientific communications including publications, abstracts, internal scientific platform/scientific statement development, and other content development for portfolio
  • Oversees the development and execution of strategic publication plan for approved and pipeline products. This includes developing/refining of publication strategic objectives for the assigned molecule(s) aligned with the overall medical objectives, participation in data analysis efforts editing and preparation of publications for submission, while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures established by Seaport and journals.
  • Responsible for the development of scientific content for corporate documents, non-dilutive grants, internal and external communications, and regulatory content in close collaboration with the Research & Development teams
  • Unify overall scientific narrative for each molecule and overall technology platform, including understanding of disease areas and clinical development plans.
  • Develop communications strategies and objectives necessary to provide strategic input to a broad range of stakeholders on matters related to publication planning & data dissemination/disclosure

Qualifications:

  • PhD or PharmD, or other advanced degree with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in communications to include scientific communications and/or publications.
  • CNS background and/or pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience or medical communications agency experience is a plus
  • Understanding of drug development, clinical trials, interpretation of scientific data, and communication via clinical/regulatory or medical affairs channels
  • Able to successfully communicate complex concepts and data to a variety of audiences
  • Able to work independently, with strong leadership skills, and effectively manage  multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to plan and design effective publication and scientific communication strategies
  • Experience working in highly matrix environment across a broad range of functional areas and effectively collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with exceptional time management skills are required for this highly visible global position
  • High integrity, sense of urgency, an appetite to both individually contribute and to lead within in a cross functional team setting
