The Opportunity:

Join our innovative team as a Principal Chatbot Engineer at Seamless.AI, where you'll play a pivotal role in reshaping the future of AI-driven sales and marketing solutions. This position offers the unique opportunity to expand, maintain, and enhance our cutting-edge chatbot. Currently built on Voiceflow and ChatGPT, aimed at automating Tier 1 customer support, facilitating product discovery, and efficiently collecting leads. Reporting directly to the CTO (with a dotted line to VP of Customer Success), the successful candidate will significantly impact by driving customer engagement and satisfaction to new heights. Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Advanced Features: Innovate and expand our Voiceflow-based chatbot capabilities to enhance user engagement and extend the bot’s effectiveness in customer support and lead generation. Utilize cutting-edge technologies to deliver superior conversational experiences.
  • Instrumentation and Metrics Analysis: Implement tools and processes for tracking how the chatbot is utilized by users. Monitor key performance metrics, analyze usage data, and execute strategies to continually improve these metrics for enhanced efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • AI Response Verification and Enhancement: Regularly review and refine the AI's responses to ensure accuracy, relevance, and human-like interaction quality. Employ testing and feedback mechanisms to improve response effectiveness and user experience.
  • Training Data Management: Actively update, enhance, and maintain the chatbot’s training data to improve its learning efficiency and response accuracy. Ensure the data reflects current trends, language use, and customer queries for a more intuitive user experience.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams across Seamless.AI to gather feedback, understand user needs, and incorporate updates that enhance the chatbot's functionality and user experience. Facilitate open communication channels to ensure the bot evolves with the product and user expectations.
  • Roadmap Management: In partnership with leadership, maintain and prioritize the chatbot development roadmap. Ensure alignment with business goals, user needs, and technological advancements. Lead the strategic planning for future chatbot enhancements, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to high-impact projects.
  • Integration and Optimization: Seamlessly integrate REST APIs and other systems to enhance chatbot functionality and user experience. Continuously optimize conversation flows and bot performance for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in AI, LLMs, chatbot technology, cybersecurity, methodologies in chatbot development and software development. Leverage new technologies and methodologies to ensure the chatbot remains at the forefront of innovation, delivering cutting-edge solutions to users.

Skillset:

  • Advanced Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in JavaScript and familiarity with other relevant programming languages. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Foundational Understanding of AI and NLP: Understands natural language processing, machine learning algorithms, and AI integration. Experience with prompt engineering and conversation design to create intuitive and engaging user interactions.
  • Experience with Chatbot Development Platforms: Hands-on experience in developing and managing chatbots, especially with platforms like Voiceflow.
  • APIs and System Integration: Skilled in working with RESTful APIs and webhooks for seamless system integration. Understanding of how to connect diverse systems to chatbot technology for enriched functionalities.
  • Data Management and Optimization: Ability to update, improve, and maintain the bot's training data, ensuring high accuracy and relevance of chatbot responses. 
  • Security Mindset in System Design: Strong focus on designing secure systems as a core responsibility. Knowledge of security best practices, data protection regulations, and experience in implementing security measures in chatbot development and integration. Understanding of potential threats and how to mitigate them to protect user data and privacy.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. Open to feedback and adept at incorporating team insights into development processes.
  • Strategic Thinking and Planning: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage the chatbot development roadmap in alignment with company goals and user needs. Strategic mindset in planning for future advancements and feature integrations. 

Education and Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering. 
  • 1+ years of experience with modern Chatbot development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, related fields, or equivalent years of work experience.
