Our Mission at Scythe
Supply Chain Planner at Scythe
Scythe is looking for a Supply Chain Planner to help manage our supply chain and support the next chapter in Scythe's journey: ramping from dozens of units to tens of thousands. We've developed an industry-changing machine and have customers knocking down our door for units, so we're looking to scale our production quickly and get thousands of reliable autonomous machines out into the world where they can change how we take care of all our outdoor space.
You'll be directly responsible for managing a number of critical suppliers, ensuring they're meeting quality, cost, and delivery expectations that we set. You'll also be expected to work closely with our manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure we are managing your suppliers' risk at appropriate levels and forecasting future ramp targets to our vendors.
What you’ll do at Scythe
- Own the end-to-end planning lifecycle for the vehicle's sub-assemblies, components, and/or finished goods. This includes ensuring accurate bill of materials, appropriate supply coverage, and timely configuration management
- Manage the supply schedule for assigned assemblies/components in order to optimize the clear-to-build plan, minimize obsolescence, and enable the production line to operate at full capacity
- Partner with engineering and production teams to effectively incorporate design or process changes seamlessly into the production line without impacting output
- Identify potential supply risks and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders to propose creative solutions and ensure steady supply
- Assess and monitor supply base capacity and constraints at critical suppliers to inform program scenario planning and mitigate potential challenges when ramping a new product revision
- Maintain part and planning master data to accurately reflect lead times, manufacturing allocations, yields and attrition, offsets, order policy, etc.
What you know well
- Experience in a medium/high-volume hardware industry such as automotive, medical, consumer electronics, or similar
- Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects
- Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (or Google Sheets) with ability to create pivot tables and analyze data by creating various charts
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
What you’ve maybe done
- Some experience developing with SQL, Tableau, Grafana, PowerBI, or similar data visualization tools.
- Experience in supply chain planning for a growing hardware engineering company, ideally within the robotics industry
