Role & Responsibilities
SCS is looking to hire a full-time senior associate to join its finance team. As a finance team member you will work directly with the Controller & VP FP&A on a day to day basis to support all aspects of finance function, and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Financial Operations
- Play a key role in quarterly client billing process
- Maintain payroll system and perform semi-monthly compensation & benefits reconciliation
- Ensure timely payment to vendors and reimbursement of employees’ expenses
- Assist with other internal and external financial reporting and regulatory requirements
Accounting
- Record monthly operating activity to accounting system; assist in providing commentary of key drivers on a monthly and quarterly basis
FP&A
- Support maintenance and monthly refresh of financial forecast models
- Assist with development of management reporting and dashboards with key financial metrics
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial plans
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide variance analysis to explain differences between actuals, forecasts, and budgets
- Help with ad hoc special analytical projects for management
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and 2+ years experience working in a accounting, finance or related field (preferably in financial services industry)
- Ability to work as part of a team and effectively communicate cross functionally
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- General understanding of core accounting principles and concepts
- Experience using accounting software or ERP system and developing reports to review financial details
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data across various other systems & formats
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet key deadlines
Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of, or understanding of SQL, VBA macros, Power BI, DataRails, ADP, Microsoft Great Plains
- Experience in enhancing or implementing automation to existing, recurring workflows
- Prior involvement in financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
- Prior involvement in annual audits, annual budgeting & forecasting processes
