What you’ll do

As a Technical Change Analyst for Automotive Projects at Scout Motors, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical changes within our automotive projects, particularly during the pre-production phase. Your expertise will ensure our vehicles meet the rigorous standards of quality and innovation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Change Management: Manage the evaluation of technical product changes in the project and pre-series phases, adhering to Scout Motors' change management protocols.
  • Quality Control: Conduct initial inspections to ensure technical changes comply with quality guidelines and checklist standards.
  • Cost and Time Reporting: Analyze cost reports and production time to validate their accuracy for the production department.
  • Schedule Coordination: Harmonize the scheduling of technical changes with production timelines for efficient integration.
  • Evaluation Facilitation: Organize and lead preliminary evaluation rounds for proposed technical changes.
  • Detailed Reporting: Maintain detailed reporting on schedule, cost, and production time changes within the project for the production sector.
  • Specialized Task Representation: Act as a technical representative within team meetings and committees.
  • Cross-Functional Improvement: Independently identify and implement process improvements across various project facets.
  • Lifecycle Management Contribution: Participate in the assessment of program items within lifecycle management, aligning with predefined milestones.
  • Technology Integration: Oversee the scheduling and management of hardware and software updates within the project lifecycle.
  • Post-Production Evaluation: Evaluate technical changes post-series production, ensuring adherence to corporate change management guidelines.
  • Process and Digital Innovation: Lead the establishment and enhancement of production processes, focusing on digitalization and contemporary methods.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Scout Motors is seeking a meticulous and innovative Technical Change Analyst with a dedication to quality and process improvement. You will bring:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, or a related field, with certifications in quality assurance or project management favored.
  • Experience in Change Management: Proven experience with technical change management within a manufacturing.
  • Quality Control Acumen: A strong focus on quality, capable of conducting thorough inspections and reviews.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent ability to analyze data related to production and to make informed decisions based on those insights.
  • Proactive Coordination: Experience in managing complex schedules and leading technical evaluations.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration and clear documentation of processes and changes.
  • Process Improvement Track Record: A history of identifying and implementing improvements to production processes independently.
  • Innovation and Adaptability: Proficiency in embracing and applying new technologies and methodologies to drive process efficiency.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $100,000-$115,000

Internal leveling code: IC9
