What you’ll do
You will be responsible for planning a seamless, stable and cost-efficient logistics supply for Scout Motors. You will focus on inbound and outbound transportation planning and will be responsible for designing and managing transports from our suppliers to our plant and from there to our customers. You will have the unique chance to contribute in the development of an entirely new transport network from the scratch. You will report to the Manager Logistics Planning.

- Designing, developing and implementing an inbound and outbound transportation network (by truck, sea & air) for cost-optimal transportation of inbound material from suppliers worldwide to our plant and finished vehicles to our customers.
- Contributing in the inbound and outbound transportation network management, e.g. by creating tender offers and analyzing tenders of logistics service providers, suppliers or carriers.
- Calculating logistics costs based on supplier localization and transportation rates as well as tracking and continuous improvement of our logistics costs.
- Developing own analyses and reports as a basis to derive and implement optimization measures for our transportation network.
- Evaluating and implementing of operative change requests regarding our transportation network. Identifying of potential weaknesses or risks in the supply chain and proactive development of countermeasures.
- Actively contributing in the forward sourcing and global sourcing process e.g. by preparation of logistic specifications, analyzing supplier offers and calculating as well as comparing logistics costs.
- Proactively establishing an ongoing, constructive and cooperative communication with internal and external business partners (e.g. suppliers, logistics service providers or carriers).
- Corresponding to your individual skills, you may be asked to perform appropriate tasks in logistics planning that are not explicitly included in this job posting.
- This Role is carried out responsibly in factual cooperative collaboration with supervisors, employees, involved and affected departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards and regulations.
What you’ll bring

- 3+ years of professional experience in production and logistics planning, preferably in inbound logistics planning or transportation planning
- Profound professional experience in logistics cost calculation, inbound transport network development and logistical service provider / carrier management (including e.g. contract / tender management)
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics or related fields
- Strong technical skills in networking, communication, process design and project management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Creative, collaborative and open mindset and drive to think out of the box
Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range: $90,000 - $100,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
