To help us continue to build great products, we are searching for a Data and Engineering Manager with focus on Data Engineering and Machine learning to join our team in our Berlin office.

As an Engineering Manager you will provide technical leadership to the teams along with managing a team of software engineers. In your role you will be working very closely with the Data platform and Machine learning teams to drive the company’s data ambitions forward. 

Your role in our beehive 

  • Demonstrate strong technical acumen and effective people management skills to lead a team of data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers towards achieving organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with principal engineers, scientists, and the product management team to contribute to technical design processes aligned with the company's vision and mission.
  • Spearhead the development and execution of strategic roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a data-driven organizational mindset.
  • Establish clear expectations and goals for the team, collaborating seamlessly with various business functions to drive impactful outcomes.
  • Partner closely with leadership to shape organizational design, prioritize initiatives, and drive data and machine learning (ML) initiatives that have a transformative impact across the organization.

Key Technologies we are working with:

  • Python, FastAPI, and Django
  • Postgres, GraphQL, Elasticsearch

What you bring to our beehive

  • 5+ years of proven record in a data engineering role, with data/backend engineering career background
  • 2+ years of experience working as a people manager leading a team of multidisciplinary skills and managing growth and career development.
  • Strong background in problem solving and programming.
  • Knowledge of building and growing teams.
  • Experience with supporting Machine learning teams.
  • Building big data architectures from scratch to support terabytes of data processing
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Great attitude towards complexity and adversity.

Bonus

  • Experience to deploy DL/ML models in production environment
  • Experience with Neo4j
  • Being AWS Certified
