About the Role & Team

As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll work with theScore’s product management, design and engineering teams to help them validate and automate several customer-facing & operator-facing Mobile & Web products and ultimately help maintain compliance and audit standards. In addition, you will be involved in the day-to-day QA activities and assist with the QA testing effort during our release cycles. The ideal candidate has strong communications skills, attention to detail, up-to-date knowledge of test automation and a solid background in testing mobile apps (iOS & Android) and web apps. An interest in professional sports, betting & eSports is a plus.

About the Work

  • Implement & maintain automation frameworks for web apps and native mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms.
  • Contribute to documenting test plans and test cases; utilize verification and validation techniques for application functionality.
  • Investigate test failures using root cause analysis during triage, prioritization, maintenance, and planning efforts.
  • Help in building and maintaining the QA environments for manual and automation testing.
  • Provide precise and timely reporting of test KPIs - automation progress, risks & issues.
  • Work with the team to define and maintain an Automation Backlog list for respective products.
  • Responsible for building automated smoke and regression test suites and keeping them up to date.
  • Become a product expert in our sportsbook platform to ensure the automated tests and framework align with our delivery & compliance methodology.
  • Meaningfully contribute to test strategies, test automation, performance benchmarking, integration testing and threat modeling.
  • Steer and support the product integrity through solid partnerships with the Product Management, Design, Development and Delivery team.
  • Actively participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, retrospectives, and lessons learned meetings.
  • Other duties as required. 

About You

  • Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent knowledge and/or experience. 
  • Experience automating tests for web & native mobile applications.
  • Experience with Selenium in web automation.
  • Experience developing automated tests using Kotlin and Java and OOP concepts.
  • Experience using version control (Git), defect tracking systems (JIRA), and test case management & specifications (TestRail, Cucumber).
  • Experience with continuous integration.
  • Experience with mobile build tools, log extraction, and crash log literacy.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team while prioritizing daily tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in python is beneficial but not required.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Android SDK tools and/or Xcode.
  • Linux and bash scripting.
  • Web/HTTP Proxy tools such as Charles Proxy.
  • Atlassian: Jira, Confluence.
  • Saucelabs, Browserstack, Jenkins (groovy), Circle CI, App Center and Github.
