We're seeking a Materials Science Applications Scientist with expertise in polymer modeling technology to work closely with our industrial and academic contacts. As a member of our materials science applications science team based in the US, you will have the opportunity to gain high proficiency with Schrödinger simulation software and apply it to critical technology areas including organic electronics, catalysis, energy storage, semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, and specialty chemicals.

What you’ll do:
- Organize and deliver presentations to lead technical discussions for existing and prospective customers
- Validate new simulation / analysis methods for polymer and condensed-matter materials systems
- Write high-impact scientific publications
- Train internal and external parties on the optimal usage of Schrödinger software
- Act as a critical link between customers, development, sales, and marketing teams, providing essential feedback on technology requirements, feature enhancements, and use-case scenarios
What you should have:
- A doctoral degree, or extensive industry experience in chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or a related field
- Deep familiarity with at least one of the following simulation/analysis methods applied to materials chemistry: quantum mechanics; molecular dynamics; coarse-grained simulations; and/or machine/deep learning, chemical informatics, and data analysis
- Expertise in atomistic-scale modeling and simulation technology for polymer / macromolecular materials systems
- Background in Python programming, polymer composite modeling or cross-linking simulations is a plus, but not required
- Enthusiasm for travel to customer sites (up to 25% of the time)
