Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC has an opening for a Cloud Engineer in New York, NY.
The position duties are as follows: Responsible for designing, building, and supporting our cloud platform. Play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud platform. Work closely with other technology teams to ensure that our cloud platform meets the needs of our business and our clients. Day-to-day duties will include:
- Using automation to support and maintain all components of the Schonfeld Cloud environment;
- Deploying and managing cloud environments via Terraform, and leveraging Python to simplify and streamline deployment operations tasks;
- Using Go to build custom Terraform Provider(s), build custom applications, and build reusable components;
- Advising technology teams on how to ensure performance when building in the cloud and leveraging cloud tooling, including ensuring that cost objectives are met as a trusted advisor in the Cloud;
- Having operational responsibilities such as implementation and optimization of server monitoring tools to maintain visibility on capacity, security, or availability or need to implement a paved path to integrate a new AWS feature;
- Designing new ways of automating core systems, documenting processes, or testing new functionality; and
- Participating in an on-call rotation every other month, handling incoming support requests to ensure that the automations created are delivering the right business value.
- One weekend on-call 24/7 every third month.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in any occupation in which experience is gained designing, building, and maintaining all components of the cloud environment or, in lieu of a degree, employer will accept 4 years of professional experience in any occupation in which experience is gained designing, building, and maintaining all components of the cloud environment. Experience must include:
- 1 years of experience with Python or Golang in the context of building cloud automation and infrastructure applications
- 2 years of experience working with infrastructure as code platforms, including Terraform and CloudFormation
- 1 years of experience automating workflows/use cases in the cloud (setting up infrastructure, processing data, etc)
- 1 years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network-related technical issues, including on AWS Cloud and Linux
- 2 years of experience using Amazon Web Services, including EC2 IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Kubernetes, and Lambda
- 1 years of experience with HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, or VPC
- 1 year of experience working within infrastructure at a hedge fund
Part-time telecommuting permitted.
The base pay for this role is expected to be between $235,750 - $235,750. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
