C++ Software Engineer: Real-Time Market Data (APAC)


The Role 

We are seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist to join us as a member of our Real Time Market Data (RTMD) development team in our APAC region. The Real Time Market Data team is dedicated to building and delivering the best real-time market data solutions to our Portfolio Managers. You will have a passion for writing robust, quality code and take pride in putting this into production. We are looking for someone who combines excellent development skills, with testing and support experience.


What you’ll do 

C++ Software Engineers take on a wide range of responsibilities and challenges. They develop, deploy and support existing applications as well as new features and platforms.  The ideal candidate will enjoy optimizing code for the continuous improvement of performance, functionality and stability of a system.  You will participate in an Agile framework, continuously improving and expanding platform capabilities based on rapidly changing business requirements as well as providing Level 3 support for existing and future applications.  In your support role, you will work closely with our Platform Support team to investigate, resolve, and release improvements and bug-fixes to address critical production issues.  As someone who is tasked with supporting front-office applications aligned with trading, you will need to communicate frequently with portfolio managers and users of our platform.  You will also need to learn and adapt to an existing platform, so that it can be effectively supported.

In this role you will initially be the sole representative for the RTMD team in the APAC region. As a result, you will have a high level of ownership, autonomy and independence in the role whilst being a focal contact person for stakeholders inside and outside of the region. You will be part of a global team and will play a key role in establishing effective communication between the different regions.


What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Experience working in financial services on market data exchange
  • Strong C++ development experience
  • Expertise in building and developing electronic trading systems, market data systems, crossing engines
  • Experience with Linux servers
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with traders or portfolio managers
  • Experience with hands-on support of systems/applications
  • Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

    • Cloud services such as AWS
    • DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation

Our portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas, Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and products.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $150,000 and $250,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
