Senior Software Engineer, Derivatives Pricing

 

The Role

We are seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join our Discretionary Macro & Fixed Income (DMFI) technology team as a Senior Software Engineer. to work in our Front-Office Technology Team. The team is tasked with building a derivatives pricing engine, pre-trade tools as well as post trade analytics.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

What you’ll do

The Senior Software Engineer will work closely with the Head of Macro Technology to help design, architect. develop and deliver a pricing platform at Schonfeld. You will participate in an Agile framework, continuously improving and expanding platform capabilities based on rapidly changing business requirements as well as providing Level 3 support across the globe. You will design, develop, debug and deploy new functionality custom to the needs of our various portfolio managers. You will keep an eye towards scalability and optimization along with ensuring the adoption of next-generation technology when appropriate. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to solve problems and an interest in continuous improvement and learning.

 

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Strong Python development experience, with around 7+ years commercial experience 
  • Along with Python application level experience, experience with another OO skillset (Java or C# or C++)
  • Expertise in building pricing and valuation systems
  • Expertise in fixed income products – e.g. fx, interest rates, credit
  • Expertise with design and architecture (microservices experience preferred)
  • Experience leading strategic technical initiatives from start to finish
  • Expertise in building systems using Kafka or similar messaging/streaming middleware
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results

    • Cloud services such as AWS
    • Containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation
