Associate, Compensation & Benefits, APAC (Human Capital Management)


The Role 

We are seeking an experienced candidate to support the delivery of regional reward processes including payroll,  annual compensation and promotion review, tax reporting, market data benchmarking, benefits plan design and implementation, as well as implementation of reward principles and policies across our APAC offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.  The person will also work closely with global teams on other HCM initiatives. 


What you’ll do 

This candidate will cover all the C&B matters in the region under the general direction of Director, HCM, Asia, as well as the functional Heads of C&B in global team.  Your scopes include but not limited to:

  • Handle the regional payroll for our APAC offices
  • Support the smooth delivery of regional reward processes including year end review, promotion, incentive payout, benefits renewal and review
  • Manage remuneration surveys including maintain an updated database of jobs matched to ensure data relevance and consistency and producing relevant management reports of market competitiveness by analyzing the survey results
  • Perform employers’ annual tax reporting and coordinate with payroll vendor(s) and tax consultant(s) to ensure accurate tax reporting to tax authorities
  • Act as the single point of contact with appointed tax consultants on employees’ income tax issues. Coordinate the use of tax consultants in providing advice to eligible or prospective employees
  • Facilitate the movement of employees across Schonfeld APAC offices with global HCM team and complete associated administration work
  • Perform a review of regional benefits in accordance with local markets
  • Cor-ordinate with global team on various C&B alignment or other HCM initiatives
  • Identify, initiate and develop reward practices and make appropriate improvement to various reward processes from time to time.


What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Experience in handling regional APAC payroll and tax reporting (Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore)
  • Experience running a year end process, global exposure preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with tactical benchmarking
  • Experience working on benefits initiatives
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional excel skills and comfort in working with data and numbers
  • Possess a high standard of excellence in everything you do
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ownership and a track record of delivering results
  • The ability to carry multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with resilience and intellectual flexibility
  • Language skills – English and Chinese (Korean, Japanese are nice to have)
