The Role 

We are seeking a talented technologist to join us as a member of our Risk Technology team. Technology within Risk is split into three areas: Infrastructure, Applications and Tactical. The Applications team within risk is responsible for building and enhancing our Risk Portal – a web application that provides real time risk data and analytics to our portfolio managers.

                                                                                                                                                         

What you’ll do 

The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining enhancements to the current risk portal web interface. You will work with the Risk technology team to create and deploy new applications and features for the risk portal. You will build components that will allow users to configure and visualize reports in innovative ways. The ideal candidate is passionate about the creating a seamless application from front to back and a mindset of using the best modern technologies to help solve business problems.

 

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Experience with UI/UX/Javascript development
  • Exposure to the latest web development technology – React, ES6+, Typescript, etc.
  • Experience with REST-based API development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results

We’d love if you had:

  • Experience working with open-source libraries and frameworks in the JavaScript / React eco-system.
  • Experience and knowledge of:
    • State management systems and patterns (e.g.  Redux, Zudstand, Jotai)
    • Frontend design frameworks (e.g. MUI, Chakra UI, Semantic UI)
  • Experience working within financial services
  • Experience with Linux servers

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is a multi-manager platform that invests its capital with Internal and Partner portfolio managers, primarily on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis, across four trading strategies; quantitative, fundamental equity, tactical trading and discretionary macro & fixed income. We have created a unique structure to provide global portfolio managers with autonomy, flexibility and support to best enable them to maximize the value of their businesses.

Over the last 30 years, Schonfeld has successfully capitalized on inefficiencies and opportunities within the markets. We have developed and invested heavily in proprietary technology, infrastructure and risk analytics and continue to capitalize on new opportunities. In 2021 we launched our newest strategy, discretionary macro & fixed income as part of the continual growth of Schonfeld’s investible universe. Our portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas, Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and products.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $135,000 and $155,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience.
