The Role 

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail oriented professional to join the Operations team as a Core Operations Senior Associate at Schonfeld in our Miami headquarters. You will be collaborating amongst distinguished operational teams across the globe, along with Product and Technology to derive innovative and best-in-class solutions to our complex trade capture and operational reporting systems. Managing and establishing a best operating model for trade capture and reporting system will require working collaboratively to engage internal and external teams, such as Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Accounting for stakeholder inputs and management. This is a wonderful opportunity to be an impact player into helping to develop best-in-class operational systems and processes for scalability and efficiencies.

What you’ll do 

The individual will be responsible for successful operational trade capture and reporting foundation as part of a highly driven and fast paced environment that constantly challenges you.  You will be responsible for platform foundation goals and deliverables alongside members from other departments and assist the senior management to deliver in such strategies and initiatives.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Ability to liaise with multiple operational teams and communicate effectively across peer groups and departments overall mission and goals to be attained
  • Working primarily and in close alignment with Product, Technology and at various intervals Fund Accounting, Compliance, Risk, Trading, etc.
  • Analyze existing trade operations processes for areas of improvement, gaps, and recommend scalable solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce operational firm risk
  • Assist team with implementation of systems and processes by conducting proper UAT testing, drafting requirement documentation, and coordinating across stakeholders
  • Liaise with product and technology to support production issues and improve operational tooling and processes
  • Assist existing operational teams with managing daily processes for enhancements, such as but not limited to: regulatory requirements and reporting, FX hedging, post trade matching, commission rules, fix messaging tag static data set-up’s, broker coordination, and items of the like.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related degree
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of operational experience; preferably from an asset management firm, prime broker or fund administrator
  • Ability to craft or assist with project planning, GANTT charts, visualization tolls and items of the like
  • Must have operations background serving in the Middle Back Office capacity ideally, familiarity with FIX infrastructure and messaging in an operational capacity
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical with keen attention to detail
  • Works in a collaborative manner and team environment while engaging others to arrive at the best possible solution for the firm
  • Understanding of trade life-cycle process and events for various products, primarily required: Equities (strong), Options, Futures, and Fixed Income (Bonds), and Swaps (TRS/IRS/CDS)
  • Experience dealing with trade economics, (price, commission, fees, fx rate), swap resets, corporate actions processing and trade breaks
  • Past track record for process automation/enhancements and strong technical skills
  • Committed, able to work under pressure and great team player
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Diligent working style with attention to detail and high standards for quality
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities

We’d love if you had:

  • Technical & Work Management Skills: SQL expertise, documentation (Confluence, Visio)
  • Coding expertise is a plus
  • Experience with operational platforms and vendors such as: Portware, Coremont, Enfusion, Geneva, Markitwire, OMGEO, NYFIX Post Trade Matching, etc.
