The Role

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail oriented professional to join the team as an Operations Manager at Schonfeld in our Miami office. You will help manage and lead the operations team in the US to implement best in class operational policies and procedures. You will have a keen attention to detail, a data integrity mindset and be someone who thrives off learning new skills and challenging yourself. You will be a natural team player who can use their strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

What you’ll do

The individual will manage other team members to assist with day-to-day operational duties and projects. Some of the key responsibilities are:

  • Work with Operations team to implement best in class operational policies and procedures
  • Manage and support daily T+1 reconciliation process; working with Administrator, Prime Brokers and Third-Party service providers to research and resolve trade, position, cash, and settlement breaks.
  • Liaise with various business units within Schonfeld especially Fund Accounting and Technology to implement best practices on Back Office team build out, systems and workflows.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests including but not limited to trade booking, reference data, corporate actions, P&L, currency exposure, account setup and the like.
  • Manage team projects: testing, research, and requirement gathering in efforts to build fully scalable and efficient processes. Manage the teams progress on global break resolution and provide updates to senior management.
  • Support data accuracy to trading desk and PMs, through various reporting tools (P&L, NAVs, positions etc.)
  • Manage, lead and train the Back Office operations team.
  • Manage the service levels of vendors and Fund Administrator, provide oversite and push for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively in a global virtual environment.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in an Operations team preferably at a hedge fund or hedge fund administrator
  • Experienced user of Advent Geneva
  • Experience supporting the following products:
    • Equities (Cash/Total Return Swap)
    • Futures
    • FX (Spot, Forwards and Options)
    • OTC product knowledge (Var/Vol Swaps, Dividends Swaps)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field
  • Experience with reconciliations, reconciliations systems and trade lifecycle
  • Excellent Communication skills, interpersonal skills, and management capabilities
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and excellent in problem solving
