Senior Sales Manager

About Scale to Win:

Scale to Win is a fully remote progressive, political tech company founded in 2020 by organizing leaders from the Biden/Harris, Bernie 2020, Warren 2020, Bernie 2016, and Hillary for America Presidential campaigns. Product offerings include Scale to Win Spoke, a P2P texting platform, the Scale to Win Dialer, a predictive calling tool, and our new, “All in one” shortcode and longcode texting tool, Scale to Win Text. Scale to Win offers turnkey “We Text” services, where our team builds text campaigns, sends messages, collects data, and ensures compliance on behalf of clients.

We work with more than 3000 Democratic and progressive campaigns and organizations driving change. Current and past clients include the Biden-Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the Working Families Party, AFL-CIO, UFCW, MoveOn, and For Our Future.

Scale to Win is hiring a Senior Sales Manager to help develop prospective client relationships for our texting and calling products.

About the role:

  • Own prospective client relationships, from outbound pitch (or inbound lead), to product demo and evaluation process, to contract and negotiation, and ultimately, to closing the deal to help our sales team hit ambitious revenue targets.
  • Own a personal sales and outreach quota, met via cold outreach, personal network, and inbound leads.
  • Become an expert on our client personas and segments. Research and identify new leads to maximize our overall outreach.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the STW offerings (texting and calling) and associated use cases to help answer client questions as they decide whether or not to purchase STW products.
  • Develop new client prospects by reaching out directly to potential client leads.
  • Log and track deals to ensure team members are aware of deal progress. We use HubSpot as our primary CRM.
  • Own contract facilitation. Cover certain days of inbound prospects to help send out contracts to new clients, answer contracting and payment questions, and move clients through our overall pipeline.
  • Communicate prospective client needs as necessary to members of the STW tech team to help inform future roadmap decisions.
  • Stay up on the latest trends in texting and calling to help answer client questions and lead compelling demos that persuade leads to sign contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reports to Director of Sales

Note, position is fully remote.

About You:

YOU are an expert sales person — you may or may not have sold software in the past, but you’re well able to make a persuasive case verbally and in writing that moves people to take action. You might be an experienced organizer or fundraiser with deep knowledge of texting and calling tools who’s looking to transition into sales, someone with significant software sales experience who’s looking to transition into political tech, or someone comfortable making arguments. While we don’t necessarily expect successful applicants to have all of the below experiences, you likely have had relevant experience with a number of the bullets below:

  • Experience managing strategic sales opportunities with relatively short term sales cycles. YOU are an ace at following up (maybe you were an organizer who never missed a confirm call for a volunteer shift, or a sales manager meticulous at managing their followup calendar). YOU know our clients are busy, and want to make sure we provide value at the right moments.
  • Political, advocacy, or non-profit organizing and/or fundraising experience that includes significant work with texting and/or calling tools. YOU deeply understand our clients’ needs.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM (such as HubSpot) to manage sales cycles. If you haven’t used a CRM for sales, a successful applicant is probably a whiz at another CRM (e.g. Votebuilder) and a fast learner.
  • YOU are excited to develop new business. This might come from cold outreach efforts, referrals from existing clients, or your own connections within the political space, but you’re excited to initiate new opportunities to help our company grow.
  • YOU are a good writer and clear communicator. YOU are a pro at communicating over email, on Zoom, and when situations warrant, in person. You write, and speak, to be understood, and are as comfortable demoing Scale to Win products in a small group setting as drafting copy for a follow up chase email.
  • YOU may or may not be a “people person,” but you enjoy days that are filled with speaking and communicating with potential clients.
  • YOU are a creative problem solver and self starter. You’re someone who can disagree without being disagreeable. You’re comfortable coming up with new ideas and have the follow through to make those new ideas happen.
  • YOU are a strong progressive. We work with Democratic and progressive candidates and causes. We are strongly committed to advancing a more just future for all.

The offer

  • $100,000 yearly salary (base). As part of our commitment to equity, salaries are non-negotiable: everyone in the same role receives the same salary.
  • On-year, discretionary election bonuses. These are typically paid out monthly and, for this role in 2024, range from $2,800 to $7,000 per month.
  • Ten company holidays, two floating holidays, and a weeklong holiday break at the end of the year.
  • Generous paid vacation (up to 24 days a year with time accrued monthly); paid sick leave; paid short-term medical, caregiver, bereavement, and other personal leave.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave and an additional 4 weeks of part-time, fully-paid flex time. This is available to all new parents of any gender, including adoptive parents.
  • Fully-paid premium, $0 deductible, top-notch medical/dental/vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Additional benefits include remote work stipend and access to a company computer.
  • Location: Remote

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
