Scalable is hiring a Head of Product for the Chip ecommerce platform. This is a leadership role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Remote candidates will be considered, but daily collaboration with team members in Asia makes the West Coast preferable from a time zone perspective.
The Chip ecommerce platform is like a mini-Shopify with some twists. We provide tools that let our customers set up their own web stores and stock them with print-on-demand and dropship products sourced from our own fulfillment centers or from third-party suppliers. When an order is placed, Chip processes the payment, orchestrates fulfillment, and handles customer support. Chip takes care of payment gateways, shipping, and customer support so sellers (our customers) can concentrate on merchandising and digital marketing.
In this role, you will lead the product management and product design teams responsible for our global ecommerce platform. You will work to create engaging, easy-to-use features that help our sellers build, grow, and manage their online presence. You will measure the performance of your features, collect direct feedback from sellers around the world, and gain customer insights from our 
internal Community Growth and Product Marketing teams. This position requires extensive experience in ecommerce product management leadership, including experience managing product for a multi-tenant SaaS platform, B2B or B2C ecommerce site, or a marketplace (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, etc.). Experience leading a product design team is a definite plus. 
The Head of Product is a leadership role, reporting to Chip’s General Manager. Your team is based in the SF Bay Area; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Vietnam. Your peers lead our engineering, product marketing, merchandising and supply, and community growth / account management teams. This role will require you to communicate and market effectively across cultures and
time zones. A deep appreciation for and interest in other cultures is necessary for success.
  • Develop a clear strategic product plan and a practical release roadmap
  • Develop and implement process improvements to help our growing team scale and move faster
  • Lead a team of product managers and product designers who are primarily located in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Gather, prioritize, and incorporate feedback from our customers, your peers, and other stakeholders throughout the company to ensure that the product roadmap meets business objectives
  • Identify product and design trends in the industry and factor them into the roadmap
  • Make data-based decisions on product and feature performance
  • Test new features with users using a variety of in-person and online techniques
  • Test and measure product performance; report out on a regular cadence
  • Develop OKRs working with your team, and manage to them quarterly
  • Regularly share product demos in company all-hands meetings
  • Develop career ladders for product managers and designers, working with HR
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (or proven equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Extensive experience with ecommerce platforms, online retail, marketplaces, or self-service SaaS platforms
  • 3+ years managing a team of five or more people
  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience
  • Experience managing design leaders (the head of design will report to this person)
  • Experience in an agile development process, Scrum, Kanban strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals
  • Deep experience with site analytics (Google Analytics) and business analytics (Looker) preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Must be able to maintain a valid passport and any necessary visas.
  • Ability to participate in regular meetings with Asia in the late afternoon or early evening, Pacific Time
