We are looking for a Director of Process Engineering who is passionate about helping people live healthier, happier lives. You will be working on developing and refining the manufacturing processes for integrating Sano’s proprietary silicon chip into the final product.  You will work closely with the rest of Sano’s multi-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, silicon process development, software, manufacturing engineering) to support the integration of various technologies and components into a finished product.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the company’s Process Engineering Department by recruiting, mentoring and developing a high functioning and cohesive team
  • Create an organizational infrastructure that supports new development and manages the day-to-day business in an efficient manner, including all planning and budgeting activities required for the department
  • Implement modern engineering processes that provide for the efficient use of platform utilization, resource allocation and product planning
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of engineering plans which define the scope of work and lead to the achievement of development release schedules and content, and be an active participant in the product lifecycle process
  • Effectively and efficiently collaborate with other engineering functions within the company to ensure the successful release of high quality products through the implementation of the product lifecycle process.
  • Team with the supply chain to ensure process and design related issues are resolved so products can be released for volume production
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for integrating Sano’s silicon biosensors in the product
  • Lead selection of adhesives and materials for packaging and integration
  • Optimize yield and throughput of assembly processes
  • Program and maintain tooling and processes to support development builds and R&D activities
  • Develop and maintain QA/QC documentation and processes
  • Develop and maintain code base for equipment automation, sample tracking, and data analysis
  • Partner with the Hardware and Production teams to implement new sensor designs
  • Optimize and qualify deposition processes, materials, and equipment for production
  • Work with production partners on process transfer

What you will bring:

  • BS or higher in a technical field
  • 10+ years of industry experience within the high-tech industry with at least 5 years in a management role
  • Experience developing complex hardware products designed for high volume manufacturing
  • Experience with process development and transfer from R&D to production with outsource partners
  • Experience with programming and running robotic assembly equipment
  • Strong communication skills and experience interfacing with external vendors and R&D
  • A detail-oriented mindset that is thorough and precise
