What's the Short Version?

The Manager, Regional Sales (RM) leads a team of Territory Managers (TM) to perform at their highest-level assuring success for each TM, SanMar and the region. They identify key areas for growth, development and opportunity for TMs, their accounts and the region. Working with their TMs, they will develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales volume, SanMar market share and SanMar's value to customers. Preferred area of residence is St Louis, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, or Pittsburg.

 

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Manage, develop, and support Territory Managers.
  • Effectively communicate all new information related to products, procedures, key initiatives, customer needs and company related issues, changes or actions.
  • Assist TMs in resolving escalated customer service issues.
  • Develop key account relationships, sell SanMar’s value proposition effectively through targeted presentations/conversations.
  • Investigate and explore customer opportunities and challenges; establish an identified need; propose relevant solutions.
  • Develop and deliver focused presentations and follow-up with individuals, small and large groups, external customers and their sales team.
  • Assist TMs in development of pre-planning action plans and schedules to improve customer contacts.
  • Cover TM territories as needed, including during an extended leave.
  • Monitor activities and track TM progress against the plan.
  • Negotiate, structure, and close complex opportunities with a focus on creating a win/win.
  • Coordinate travel with maximum efficiency for highest customer interaction while mitigating company expenditure.
  • Work with Sales Support Specialists to coordinate involvement of multiple departments as needed, communicating clear goals and direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of outside sales experience, apparel industry strongly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of sales leadership experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, good driving record required.
  • Ability to travel 2-3 weeks per month.
  • Vehicle that is reliable and can hold: Racks that hold up to 100 samples wrinkle free Trade show booth 2-3 cases of catalogs 2-3 cases of other misc. marketing brochures Travel 25K miles per year.
  • Ability to cover expenses including travel, business entertainment, business expenses for 4-6 full weeks at a time.
  • Ability to travel including drive, all types of planes (including prop planes), trains, subways, etc.
  • May be required to travel in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to build meaningful partnerships and communicate effectively with customers, sales team and internal departments to identify and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Experience in examining, analyzing, developing and executing a strategic business plan with high level decision makers.
  • Ability to recognize emerging business trends and determine viability of opportunities.
  • Ability to solve problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of communications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Work well under deadline pressures in a fast pace environment, efficiently handling multiple tasks at once
  • A high degree of professionalism, integrity, objectivity, and service orientation.
  • Must be a leader; a positive model and an enthusiastic, energetic and sales focused individual.
  • Highly motivated self-starter; has the ability to accomplish results without direct supervision.
  • Easily conveys information and concepts in a "user friendly" manner to different skill levels and personalities.
  • Exceptional organization, planning and time-management skills.

 

What's Our Offer?

Salary: Determined based on the Zip Code or Geographic Region in which you live.

 

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.

 

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Outside Sales: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Work environment is moderately quiet. Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. Must be able to legally drive a vehicle during all types of driving conditions, including day and night driving.
