The Director, Employee Experience (DC) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee experience in the distribution centers in addition to serving the SanMar community as a human resources leader, business partner and employee advocate,
What Will You Be Doing?
- Serve as trusted advisor to our distribution centers by providing guidance to managers and employees on all aspects of their work experience including, but not limited to coaching, employee relations and team development.
- Maintain strong partnerships with distribution leaders to ensure human resource activities are in line with the business needs and the SanMar culture.
- Lead and develop human resources managers and their teams.
- Oversee the execution of sourcing and recruitment efforts for distribution centers.
- Provide guidance and input on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- In partnership with other human resources leaders, implement and manage key programs and projects specifically designed to enhance the employee experience including DC activities and events.
- Partner with learning and development team to ensure both regulatory and professional development training is completed.
- Maintain employee and manager resources and communication channels.
- Maintain an understanding of organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, and EEO regulations. Handle inquiries or responses in partnership with legal team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
What Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in professional and progressive human resource generalist roles/responsibilities.
- Experience managing a team of human resources professionals.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Successful track record building proactive programs across all functions in Human Resources.
- Must be highly collaborative and have experience in a high-touch environment.
- Knowledge of current federal, relevant state, and local labor laws.
- Proven ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate, and connect with all employees at all levels of the organization and outside resources.
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of pertinent laws and compliance issues.
- Ability to demonstrate complete confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel on a frequent basis.
- Strong business acumen that is people focused.
- Understanding of diversity and inclusion practices.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including benefit and compensation practices, organization diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management and federal & state employment laws.
What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $145,000 - $185,000 annually, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 20% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.
SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
