As a Detox Nurse at Sandstone Care You Will:
- Assists with medication management, client medication education, and administration according to physician orders and in accordance with facility policy.
- Assists with clients’ prescription medication refill and administration.
- Document and maintain accurate and current patient records in electronic healthcare software system.
- Complete intake assessments and other required documentation upon admission
- Oversee work and responsibilities of Behavioral Health or Mental Health Technicians, resource for Techs in performance of job duties related to client care.
- Monitor and observe clients upon admission, managing any medical challenges within the scope of your license, contacting physician when appropriate for best client care.
- Support clients that are actively intoxicated, experiencing symptoms of withdrawal
- Identify emerging situation and respond appropriately.
- Monitor/observe Urinalysis or Breathalyzer tests as needed and document appropriately.
Qualifications
- A valid and current RN or LPN license in Colorado
- Previous experience in treating substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Training in verbal de-escalation and/or mental health.
- A valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
- At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
