What You’ll Learn
Project: Identify performance challenges of the existing compute/memory technologies, programming models, and proposing, implementing, and evaluating solutions to improve the end-to-end performance of memory-bound workloads.
Skills You’ll Learn:
- Identifying challenging problems in the research domain and finding creative solutions
- Conducting cutting-edge research in the area of memory architectures, programming models, and compilers
- Publishing research outcomes in academic journals/conferences
- Collaborating with a team of engineers with diverse expertise
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our headquarters in San Jose office 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.
What You’ll Do
- Identify memory bottleneck in modern AI accelerators
- Propose novel architectures or algorithms to address performance challenges found on state-of-the-art memory systems
- Design experiments to validate your ideas, using simulators and other related tools
- Collaborate with Team of experts in memory system to produce comprehensive solution
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
What You Bring
- Currently conducting PhD level research in computer architecture, computer systems, compilers, or a related field
- Knowledgeable in memory/storage architectures, cache systems, and modern accelerator architectures
- Familiarity with near-memory computing and popular programming models (e.g., OpenCL, CUDA), parallel computing, and compiler internals is a plus
- Understanding of compute and memory requirements of modern AI/ML applications like LLMs
- Proficiency in C++ and Python is preferred
- Good communication skills
- You’re inclusive, adapting your style to the situation and diverse global norms of our people
- An avid learner, you approach challenges with curiosity and resilience, seeking data to help build understanding
- You’re collaborative, building relationships, humbly offering support, and openly welcoming approaches
