Inside This Business Group:

This role will be part of the CFO office at SSI. She or he will be working as an individual contributor to help analyze SSI actual operating results of Memory & SoC business throughout the year and compare to monthly forecast and yearly plan and interpret data and presents results to management. Person will work closely with Sales/Marketing team to analyze every operating result such as ASP by application, product, and customer and perform diverse cost saving projects in finance operation requested by CFO & Controller.

Overview & Impact:

Samsung Semiconductor Inc. (SSI) is currently looking for a Sr. Finance Analyst. This role will gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans and operating status. Other duties will be conducting the Company’s financial closing, forecast, annual budgeting, variance analysis, and special projects. She or he will analyze trends in all areas of OPEX expenses to help business partners gain key insights into spend. Collaborate cross-functionally with other FP&A groups, as well as operations including purchasing, accounting, and facilities to support the entire DSA groups. She or he will prepare and compile annual budget plan which involves headcount planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long range planning. Will also work to accomplish month-end closing by collaborating with accounting and resolving issues that arise to ensure a timely close. This requires extensive use of Excel spreadsheets and will be required to use SAP (FI/CO).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data analysis (#1 Priority)
  • Develop financial models that help with decision-making
  • Produce financial reports related to sales, expenses/budgets, profits, cost savings, etc.
  • Develop long-term business plans based on these reports (Annual Business Plan)
  • Review monitoring, and manage budgets (Closely work with each Cost center leaders to ensure the ongoing budget not to exceed over the original plan)
  • Create and submit monthly forecast and variance analysis
  • Allocation of costs to appropriate cost centers
  • Develop strategies that work to minimize financial risk
  • Expense analysis by invoice & vendor level as necessary
  • Work closely with business operations leaders, finance, accounting, HQ, and other Sales team members to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
  • Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities
  • Responsible for driving continuous process improvements as related to financial management and reporting
  • Support Ad-Hoc analysis and projects

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Korean proficiency is also essential as you will be interacting with team in South Korea Samsung HQ.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or management
  • At least 3+ years of experience in finance, strategic planning, Technical Marketing for major tech companies and/or business consulting
  • Strong background of data analytics (Handling a massive data management)
  • MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint, SAP (Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Skilled in analytics and financial modeling.
