JOB TITTLE: Display Product Planning Manager

LOCATION: San Jose, CA, USA

OVERVIEW:

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (DSA) is a world leader in Memory, System LSI, Storage and Display technologies. We are looking for a new team member who will be working in Samsung display team in San Jose. They will be working as an individual contributor dealing with Samsung’s industry-leading display technologies like OLED and QD-Display, in collaboration with Korean HQ, and spearheading tech sensing, product planning, and tech enabling for future products, and tech support for current products. Come join working with our professionals who possess a fine mixture of in-depth technical understanding from hands-on engineering experiences, as well as business acumen. Most importantly you have a solid understanding on display technology, an acute understanding of the needs of our customers and you bring your knowledge to bear to help us create industry leading products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enable display technologies such as OLED and QD-Display for IT ecosystem of notebook, monitor, and TV
  • Technology sensing and market trend analysis in US for smartphone, wearables, notebook, monitor, PID, TV, and etc
  • Consumer IT product trend analysis related to display
  • Promote new product and technology to existing and potential customers
  • Deliver branch insight based on real time customer feedback and establish execution plans accordingly
  • Update and promote technical and product roadmap to existing and potential customers
  • Direct communication with existing customers and provide technical support for the current products
  • Collaborate with marketing for strategic direction and required specifications into targeted markets and applications
  • Daily or weekly communication with our corporate HQ team regarding new products and strategies
  • Draft presentations for key internal and external meetings
  • Update key activities through weekly reports for executive review

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BS degree minimum or MS degree preferred
  • At least 5+ years combined experience in engineering, product planning, technology sensing, new technology enabling, new business development role in display company or system or semiconductor company
  • Solid understanding on display technologies such as OLED or/and LCD
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Global travel required to Asia (~1 per quarter), regular local customer visits (multiple times per week)
